Watch: Leeds star steals the show in international

Traditionally, the Brazilian national team is full of quality players and it’s no different these days.

With the likes of Neymar, Gabriel Jesus, Roberto Firmino, Ederson and Alisson at their disposal, they have one of the best teams in the world, one of the best squads in the world in fact and the latest star to join this mouth watering group is Leeds United’s Raphinha.

Those outside Elland Road may question what the winger brings to Brazil given the quality they have on offer. However, if you’ve seen him play you know he’s a special attacking talent.

Likened to Mo Salah and pursued by big boys Manchester United and Liverpool, it’s clear he’s starting to catch the eye and last night he announced himself to the world with a stunning second half display against Venezuela.

The Brazilians curiously trailed at the break thanks to an Erik Ramirez goal. So, to turn the game on its head, manager Adenor Leonardo Bacchi, otherwise known as Tite, brought the Leeds man on. It’s safe to say he changed the game with a brilliant and tormenting performance.

In truth he did everything you’d expect of a top class winger as he ran at defenders, created chances for those inside him and got into good attacking positions himself.

He inspired Brazil to a 3-1 win coming away with two assists and playing a key role in the penalty which saw them take a 2-1 lead.

It’s surely a matter of time until he’s a regular starter for his country if he maintains his current trajectory.
