We didn’t hesitate – Agent of Leeds United new boy opens up on summer switch

The agent of Leeds United new boy Isaac Schmidt has claimed that the player didn’t hesitate to agree to a move once the Whites came calling in the summer transfer window.

FC St. Gallen earned a club record fee when they decided to sell the left-back to Leeds in the final days of the last transfer window.

Schmidt completed the formalities of the transfer in the final hours of the summer window and was not eligible to play in Leeds’ 2-0 win over Hull City ahead of the international break.

He is still waiting for his debut as the left-back was an unused substitute in Leeds’ 1-0 defeat to Burnley over the weekend but Schmidt is eager to experience the passion of the Leeds fans as soon as possible.

Steven Lang, his agent, has provided background on the transfer that saw him join Leeds in the dying embers of the summer transfer window.

Schmidt was always clear about joining Leeds United despite interest from other clubs

The Leeds defender’s agent revealed that the player had interest from top-flight clubs in Germany but once Leeds came calling the decision was easy to make.

The rich tradition of the club coupled with Leeds’ ambition of getting back to the Premier League matched what the left-back wanted from his new club.

Lang revealed that once Leeds made a concrete move to sign him the defender had no hesitation about which club he wanted to move to in the summer.

“Other clubs were interested, including Bundesliga clubs, but Leeds are a club with tradition and a rich history,” Lang told Leeds Live.

“For us, it was clear that joining Leeds and moving to England was a great opportunity for Isaac.

“The project perfectly matched what we were looking for so we didn’t hesitate. It’s the fact that such a great club must return to the Premier League.”
