‘We had to adapt’- Bielsa heaps praise on Newcastle forward

Leeds were forced to settle for a point on Friday night as they drew 1-1 with Newcastle United at St James’ Park.

The main thorn in Leeds United’s side was forward Allan Saint-Maximin, who looked like causing mayhem every time he picked up the ball. Bielsa admitted as such in his post-game press conference. The Frenchman scored the equalising goal on the stroke of half time.

“We had to adapt to a great centre forward” said Bielsa, before moving on to talking about the poor start Leeds have made to the season. “The results are not great, from 15 points to have only 3 is too little.”
He’s not wrong, Leeds have started this season poorly and are yet to record a victory thus far.

Hopefully results will start to improve sooner rather than later.
