Leeds United have had a positive start to the season so far and look to be heading in the right direction. After two big results against Wolves and Bournemouth, the fans are very optimistic of the future.

The Whites sit in mid table with eight points from six league games so far. Daniel Farke will be pleased with how his team responded to the loss away to Fulham a few weeks ago. Since then, the club have recorded a huge victory over Wolves, and held one of the best teams in the league to a draw.

Leeds’ goalscoring has sprung to life recently – after scoring just one goal from the start of the season, the club have now scored five goals in the last two games.

Former Manchester United defender Gary Neville has been speaking about newly promoted teams in the Premier League. According to him, Leeds, Sunderland and Burnley need to succeed this season for the benefit of the league. All three clubs have had a better start than last year. Neville has been speaking about this on his podcast:

“We need to see teams from the Championship do well.

“Teams need to be given encouragement without bankrupting themselves.

“What Leeds have done, Burnley and Sunderland, but look, it’ll still be difficult.”

The last two seasons have seen all three promoted clubs going back down to the Championship, hopefully this year, something can change.

Daniel Farke knows how Leeds can match opponents

Farke went on a long rant about the expectations of the team given the quality of the players. He then pointed out that this squad cannot outperform or play better than a lot of other teams in the league, but with organization and physicality they stand a chance.

“We can’t outperform our opponents when you see their quality.

“Organisation, physicality, big team spirit is what we need.

“The team reduced Bournemouth to so little chances but they’re a proven Premier League side and they were effective today.”

His words will surely be in the players minds this week, when Leeds host Spurs at Elland Road this weekend.
