West Ham star has set huge target for Leeds United game

The past few games for Leeds United have seen some unexpected reunions. The Whites have faced Bournemouth, Spurs and Burnley in the last three games and in each game, they have faced a former player.

When Bournemouth visited Elland Road, it was the first time Tyler Adams had faced the Whites since he left. He experienced a hostile reception, but ultimately he said only nice things about his time in West Yorkshire. Leeds also faced Archie Gray for the first time in the Premier League recently, that was the first time the youngster returned since he left.

Against Burnley, Connor Roberts was unavailable to face his former club.

Leeds face West Ham on Friday night, and will once again come face to face with a former player. Crysencio Summerville will return to Elland Road after leaving the club last year. Unfortunately for the player, injuries disrupted his first season with the Hammers. He barely got a run of games, and it was revealed that Nottingham Forest were keen on him this summer, but he stayed.

With the game against Leeds coming up, it is now close to a year since he scored his first Premier League goal for West Ham. Summerville scored against Manchester United in October 2024. The winger has been speaking about how he is keen to break his duck soon, with the game against Leeds up next.

“I’ve stayed fit, and now I just want to keep improving and have a big impact in the rest of the season.

“It’s been nearly a year since I scored for the Club, so it would be great to get on the scoresheet soon, too.”

How will fans react if Summerville scores on Friday?

Unlike some players who left Leeds on a bad note, Summerville was quite liked by the fans at Elland Road. And he seems like the type of player who will not celebrate against his former club, so there is no chance that the crowd will boo him during the game. Leeds fans gave a warm reception to Archie Gray recently, so expect Summerville to be treated in a similar fashion.
