What Leeds star was seen doing in the dugout ‘exposes’ what is going on at Elland Road

Leeds United manager Daniel Farke.

It was just weeks ago that Leeds United were destined for relegation, and Daniel Farke was heavily tipped to be sacked. But since then, things have turned around at Elland Road.

The Whites’ win over Crystal Palace this weekend follows a run of games that have seen them spring huge results under Daniel Farke. No one expected the team to perform this well against the Eagles, who were just a few points off the top four.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin scored in his fifth straight game to give the home side the lead, before doubling the scoreline before the half time break. Ethan Ampadu scored his first Premier League goal for Leeds, and Anton Stach sealed the game with a late free kick to round out a 4-1 win over Oliver Glasner’s side. Saturday saw one of the biggest results for Farke’s men in the league this season.

Nigel Martyn reveals what he saw Leeds United star do during Crystal Palace game

Calvert-Lewin was taken off after 87 minutes, with the game out of reach and got massive applause for his performance. Minutes later during stoppage time, the striker could be seen wildly celebrating the club’s fourth and final goal of the game from Anton Stach. Former goalkeeper Nigel Martyn said the scenes in the dugout after the goal shows what Leeds United are really about since they turned things around:

“I think that’s something that’s really coming through this team – how much of a team they are together.” he said speaking to LUTV.

“You saw Dominic Calvert-Lewin celebrating the fourth goal when it went in from the substitutes’ bench. His night’s done.

“He could easily just sit down and not bother, but that shows how much they’re together, and that can only be a good thing going forward.”

Whites have looked unstoppable in recent games

Many will give credit to Daniel Farke for the system change during this run of games, but the players have also contributed massively to that. There is this sense around the club that the team can get a result no matter what.

Beating Chelsea, and mounting comebacks against Liverpool and then Brentford later just shows how much character this group of players have. And Saturday night’s win over Crystal Palace confirmed this. Fans should be positive that these players can get the club across the line in the race for survival.
