Wolves sought to hold on to their Spanish left-back amid Leeds United interest

Wolves keen on retaining Hugo Bueno despite Leeds United interest

New updates have come in regarding Wolves’ Spanish left-back Hugo Bueno. The 21-year-old has been a point of interest for many clubs this summer following a fringe role at the Molineux.

Leeds United have also shown interest as the club is looking forward to improving depth down the flanks. The Whites have only got three first-team players to rely on for the full-back positions.

Reports in the Netherlands and Scotland claim the interests of Feyenoord and Celtic respectively. Both the clubs would like to have reinforcements on their side for the wings.

Amidst various interests, The Atheltic have reported that Hugo is not close to leaving Wolves this summer. The West Midlands outfit consider him an important aspect of their plan this season.

“Bueno is not close to leaving Molineux and Wolves consider him important to their plans for next season. Loan deals between Leeds and Premier League clubs can be complicated because they do not commit to playing time quotas ā€” a common clause among some top-flight clubs.”

The outlet also claims that the deal can be quite complicated. This is due to the reason that Leeds doesn’t guarantee a playing quota for loan players which is a common practice among Premier League clubs.

Bueno can be a great temporary asset for Leeds. Only Sam Byram, Junior Firpo and Jayden Bogle can play at full-back for Leeds. The 49ers need another full-back reinforcement to cover their three existing ones.

Hugo is currently a third-choice left-back at Wolverhampton Wanderers. Rayan AĆÆt-Nouri is Wolves’ first choice who has been incredible for The Old Gold.

Matt Doherty is another obstacle that stays in the way for the Spaniard. Gary O’Neil has got plenty of options down the wing this season and Bueno could benefit from a loan at Leeds plying his trade in a more physical league.

Hugo might be off the cards for The Whites. Although rumors have been coming in that Senegalese left-back FodĆ© Ballo-TourĆ© is also on the club’s radar.

The French-born footballer has garnered quite some interest after falling out of favor at San Siro. FodƩ has been offered to Ipswich Town for now, following his interest in the English top-flight.

He also rejected an offer from Turkish SĆ¼per Lig giants Beşiktaş in order to move to The Isles. Leeds might not be in The Prem this season but their prospect of making it to the top next season might certainly persuade the defender.
