Wolves enter race to sign Leeds United £7 million rated target

Wolves have entered the race to sign Leeds United target Jonathan Rowe

Wolves have entered the race to sign Norwich City youngster Jonathan Rowe. The 21-year-old winger is the second-only player for whom Leeds have officially bid for this season.

According to journalist Darren Witcoop, Rowe is a player “also liked by Wolves”.

“Norwich in danger of losing top players. Jonathan Rowe subject of £7m Leeds bid and also liked by Wolves. Josh Sargent attracting PL interest, Adam Idah heading for Celtic return and Gabriel Sara has joined Galatasaray for £15m. Big month ahead #norwichcity”

Wolves’ Premier League status might become detrimental to Rowe’s selection. As mentioned, he is the second-only player Leeds have bid for this season, showcasing their seriousness towards the deal.

The Whites are in dire need of frontline reinforcements following the sale of Crysencio Summerville. Other players such as Wilfried Gnonto are subject to ownership as the Italian pushes for an exit away from Elland Road.

Although Leeds came out in fine form from their pre-season campaign, Daniel Farke would like more depth up wide. This is to ensure that The West Yorkshire outfit stays on track for promotion this season.

Even after having the best player in the league last season, The 49ers fell short of attaining top-tier status. They lost to Southampton in the promotion play-off finals 0-1.

Alternatives if Leeds fail to sign Jonathan Rowe

Jonathan Rowe is probably one of the most affordable wingers for the club at the moment. Having only a year left on his contract, United can take advantage of this opportunity to secure a fine winger this summer.

However, things will be tough as Wolverhampton’s Premier League allure might sway Rowe away. Archie Gray left for similar reasons with a mix of financial troubles playing a side-character role in the saga.

Considering the English winger gets away, Leeds still have plenty of options to bolster their squad. Crystal Palace winger Jesurun Rak-Sakyi is up in the market for a loan deal.

The Eagles are said to be deciding on the winger’s future by the end of this week. Rak-Sakyi fits Farke’s system perfectly and can provide a temporary solution for Leeds before they get back to the top flight.

There is also Dutch winger Sontje Hansen. The NEC bound forward is also being followed by Birmingham City who are a division below The Whites. Hansen has three years left on his contract which will persuade the Gelderland-based side to garner a higher fee from his sale.
