Leeds United boss Daniel Farke made a huge decision that ended up winning promotion for the club. After a three-game winless run, a major change was made to the first team.
After Illan Meslier made two errors that cost Leeds points against Swansea City, he was benched for the next game. Since the Luton game, Karl Darlow has been in goal. The results have proved that Farke made the right decision. Leeds have won their last five games conceding just one goal.
This has lead to rumours about Illan Meslier leaving the club in the summer. Augsburg shot stopper Finn Dahmen has been linked with a move to Elland Road.

Leeds continue to be linked with Wolves goalkeeper Sam Johnstone. Daniel Farke’s side are said to have concrete interest in the England international. Nothing has been confirmed, but it seems like all parties involved are open to making a deal. Former scout Mick Brown believes the 32-year old will push for a move to Leeds this summer for playing time:
“I think it would be a good move,” he told Football Insider.
“Not just for Leeds, but for Sam as well because he needs to be playing regular football.
“He wants to get back in the England squad because when he was playing regularly for Palace, he was regularly in Gareth Southgate’s squad.
“Since then he’s dropped out because he hasn’t been playing enough for Wolves when you’ve got Dean Henderson and Aaron Ramsdale playing every week.
“So from his perspective, a move away from Wolves might be what he needs.”
Sam Johnstone could join Leeds
Mick Brown is right; Johnstone has not had a full season of football in the last two seasons. The 32-year old made just seven appearances in the league this season.

Despite all that, he has proved over the years that he is a decent keeper that has a lot of Premier League experience.
