With the weekend round the corner and another Leeds United clash coming, there’s a lot to be happy about at Elland Road.
Despite the injuries to Ethan Ampadu and Ilia Gruev, Leeds United are in good form. In fact, they ended Sheffield United’s unbeaten run last week and backed that up with an impressive win over Watford on Tuesday (22nd October). Both wins were key, as they allowed Leeds to remain level on points with second place Burnley and just three points behind leaders Sunderland.
In fact, Leeds should perhaps be top given they just needed to hold on against Sunderland to claim a win and would have done if not for an Illian Meslier blunder that cost them two points.
All told, Elland Road is a rosy place to be at the moment. Boosted by getting a new signing in the shape of French international and former Mainz, Atletico Madrid, Saint Etienne and VfL Wolfsburg star Josuha Guilavogui, there’s an extra level of optimism among Leeds fans which has them going into the game against Bristol City on Saturday lunchtime full of hope that they will continue to keep pace with the leaders.
However, not everything is going well for all of Leeds’ players.

Concern emerges over Leeds United star
Leeds United have many players away on loan, but one of their most expensive is Rasmas Kristensen. Valued at £10.8 million, the former Ajax and RB Salzburg right-back is quite an expensive player to have out on loan and is a player Leeds will look to cash in on in the summer with an agreement already in place.
He made 29 appearances on loan for Roma last year and is currently on loan with Eintracht Frankfurt. However, he has been criticised recently as highlighted by Leeds United News, and now he has been lambasted by the national media in Germany.
In their 1-0 win over RFS on Thursday night, Kristensen was criticised with the Frankfurter Rundschau saying: “Rasmus Kristensen: So-So. Often chose to go forward, hardly challenged at the back either. But without a real plan, far too many easy passing errors.”
Though Frankfurt have an agreement in place with Leeds to sign Kristensen at the end of the year, there is a fear they may try and reduce the agreed upon fee and performances like that mean Leeds could be hit with a financial blow as per Leeds United News.
