David Prutton has insisted that Leeds United should learn from their defensive lapse against Burnley and believes they will beat a struggling Cardiff City side on Saturday.
Leeds are under pressure after losing 1-0 at home to Burnley last weekend, which saw them drop to ninth in the Championship standings.
Daniel Farke’s job is not under any immediate threat and the Leeds board want to give him time to turn the results around in the coming weeks.
However, there is pressure on him as Leeds have been tipped to be one of the strong automatic promotion contenders this season alongside teams such as Burnley.
They are preparing to take on an out-of-form Cardiff City who have just a point from their opening five league games, which is their worst start to the season in 35 years.
The former White expecting Leeds United to right the wrongs of the Burnley defeat
Prutton admitted that Cardiff are in the middle of a disastrous rut at the start of the season with question marks over the future of their manager, Erol Bulut.
Leeds were opened up a simple counter-attack by Burnley and the former White is expecting that they have learned from the way they defended that situation.
The former Leeds star believes that a game away at Cardiff is always tricky for any side but he is expecting the Whites to pick up all three points from their trip to Wales this weekend.
“Well Cardiff are in a massive rut aren’t they, the fact they sit bottom with just a solitary point”, Prutton said on the Essential EFL podcast.
“Leeds, that poor defending that opened up the whole of the pitch for Koleosho against Burnley.
“You would like to think they will right that and I am going to go a Leeds win on the road here. It’s a trip and a half but I think they’ll get all three points.
“Cardiff 0-2 Leeds.”
