Leeds United look as though they will go back into the market for another attacking midfielder in the summer transfer window.
From watching Daniel Farke’s side recently, it is clear that Leeds lack a playmaker who can unlock a defence with a precise pass or a moment of magic in the final third.
Brenden Aaronson has proven he is not capable of delivering this regularly, and Facundo Buonanotte hasn’t even been able to convince Farke to name him in the matchday squad more often than not.
It is evidently an area United need to address, and it looks as though they could be about to, according to the latest reports.
Leeds United are interested in Paris FC playmaker Ilan Kebbal
Kebbal, 27, currently plays for Paris FC in Ligue 1, with the Algerian enjoying a successful campaign up to this point.
Leeds, along with Watford, Southampton and Marseille, all hold an interest in the playmaker, who is valued at around £10.5million according to Transfermarkt.
The same report from Africa Foot also goes on to claim that, according to their sources, Kebbal would be open to leaving Paris in the upcoming summer transfer window, with his ambition to make a step forward in his career being the driving factor behind his final decision.
Marseille are said to be leading the race for Kebbal’s signature at this moment in time; however, the finances Leeds would be rewarded with for staying in the Premier League could put the Whites in pole position to get a deal done should they choose to pursue one.

Data suggests Ilan Kebbal is having a stellar campaign
Similarly to Leeds, Paris are impressing in their first season in the top flight following promotion, sitting comfortably in mid-table with little to no threat of relegation.
Kebbal has been a key part of the success they have enjoyed so far this campaign, with the attacking midfielder boasting some impressive numbers.
- Kebbal has scored eight goals and provided four assists in 23 Ligue 1 appearances so far
- Kebbal has created six big chances in the league and averages two key passes per game
- The playmaker has been extremely clinical this season, with his eight league goals coming from an xG of just 5.63 (Sofascore)
Kebbal’s arrival could be bad news for the likes of Aaronson, with the American failing to register a goal or an assist in his last 12 appearances in all competitions for club and country.
Whilst his work rate is a valuable commodity, Leeds desperately need more quality in their attacking department, with Dominic Calvert-Lewin living off scraps for the majority of the season so far.
