Leeds United have a difficult game against Brentford this weekend as they hope to get points on the board before the upcoming international break.
After picking up just one point in their last three games, their relegation rivals are closing in. There is now just three points separating four teams from the last spot in the relegation zone. This weekend Leeds united are at home and will be hoping to gain maximum points when Brentford visit.
The Whites have received a lot of good news this week, with two of their star players earning call ups ahead of the World Cup. Anton Stach got his first call up for Germany in the last four years, while Dominic Calvert-Lewin is set to return to the England set up since last playing in 2021. The duo have been outstanding for Leeds this season, and have rightfully earned a place to compete for a World Cup spot.
Leeds United star snubbed in England call up
However, one player who could feel hard done by in all of this could be Leeds star James Justin. The defender has slowly worked his way into the team since the end of the year, and is now a regular under Daniel Farke. Justin was a highly rated talent when he broke out at Leicester, but only managed one England cap in 2022 before injury stalled his progress.
| Position | Games Played |
|---|---|
| Right Back/Right Wing Back | 8 |
| Left Back/Left Wing Back | 1 |
| Center Back | 5 |
| Total | 14 |
He has bounced back and is following up a solid campaign last year with an even better one with Leeds United in the Premier League. With his versatility, one would think he would slot in multiple roles in Thomas Tuchel’s system.
James Justin has been another solid signing by the 49ers
Just like with Dominic Calvert-Lewin, James Justin was another player who raised eyebrows when he was signed. But Daniel Farke made it clear that the team needed cover for Jayden Bogle in the Premier League. The defender has become much more than that over the last few months – Farke has been comfortable using him across the pitch. Justin has played center back and in both wingback positions and has even delivered some goals and assists. For just £10 million, he has been a solid signing for the club.
