When Leeds United splashed over £100 million in the summer, it was obvious that some players would lose their position. There were key players in the Championship that have barely seen the pitch this season.
Joel Piroe was top scorer in the league last year, but has managed just one goal this season. Ao Tanaka was voted Players’ Player of the Year but has struggled this campaign, and Illan Meslier does not even make matchday squads.
The Whites brought in two top quality center backs from European sides; Jaka Bijol and Sebastiaan Bornauw. The move susprised some fans considering how solid the pairing of Joe Rodon and Pascal Struijk had been in the Championship.
Premier League clubs line up for Leeds United star
Before the season began, many thought Struijk would be the one losing his place. But the Dutch defender has responded with an incredible campaign. Pascal Struijk has more than earned his place in the Leeds United line up despite the criticism from the fans. Farke has come to trust the trio of Rodon, Struijk and Bijol as the season progressed.

And now, it looks like clubs have taken notice. According to SportsBoom, Tottenham, Aston Villa and Newcastle are all monitoring the situation with the 26-year old. All the clubs mentioned are keen on a left footed center back ahead of this summer, and could make moves for the Leeds star.

Pascal Struijk situation is not straightforward
The report goes on to add that Leeds United are not under pressure to sell Struijk, however this summer could change things. Due to PSR reasons, the club may consider a sale to boost their financial position. The Whites are said to value the Dutch defender in excess of £30 million as they see him as a top prospect in the league due to his profile as a left-footed ball-playing defender.
And with Villa, Spurs and Newcastle involved, his asking price may go up further. When it comes to Struijk, the report claims that the defender will be looking for a pay rise at the end of the season. If he does not get what he asks for, there is a chance he could look elsewhere. Leeds hold all the cards in this situation, but as the summer draws nearer, Struijk will have a year left on his deal. So the upcoming transfer window could be pivotal one for the club and the player.
