Sunday will see a very interesting FA Cup clash as two teams in the Premier League relegation battle face off. Leeds United play West Ham in the quarterfinals of the competition.
This will be the Whites’ first game after the international break; they did not end on a great note in the league. They had a huge chance to open the gap between themselves and the relegation zone but only managed a draw against Brentford.
This weekend’s FA Cup clash is set to be keenly contested, as Hammers captain Jarrod Bowen has already made his goal clear ahead of the game.
“We’ve got the chance for an FA Cup semi-final. I’ve got a chance to come here (Wembley) and lead them out, which would be such a special thing for me.
Leeds will face West Ham again in the Premier League before the end of the season, but now, the focus for Daniel Farke and his men will be a place in the semi-final.
Nuno Espirito Santo confirms injury news ahead of Leeds United clash
Leeds United already have a major doubt for Sunday’s game after Dominic Calvert-Lewin pulled up in training, with Farke confirming his status on Thursday. The striker was on international duty with England this week, but only played just around 30 minutes before he returned to Leeds. He would be a big miss as he is the club’s top goalscorer this season.
Nuno Espirito Santo also has issues of his own, as he has confirmed the availability of West Ham star Crysencio Summerville:
“First, we have to assess him, if it’s good, if he feels good, but we are not at that point yet, still one day to go, and then we will make a decision.”
The former Leeds man picked up a serious injury before the international break, and was not expected to be fit in time for the FA Cup clash. But things could change before the weekend.

FA Cup clash holds high stakes
A place in the semifinal of the FA Cup and a potential path to Wembley is not the only thing at stake on Sunday. With both sides set to meet later in the season during the relegation battle, it is the perfect time to get a huge advantage over your opponent. If Daniel Farke’s men are able to beat the Hammers, then there is a high chance the team can repeat the result when they face off in the league. So it will be a very important outcome when the two sides meet in the cup competition.
