Daniel Farke and Leeds United will be reasonably satisfied to leave Selhurst Park with a point after a 0–0 draw against Crystal Palace.
Leeds had a huge chance to take the lead in the first half when they were awarded a penalty in the Palace box, but Dominic Calvert-Lewin pulled his effort wide, missing the opportunity to score his 11th Premier League goal of the season.
Things became more challenging just before half-time when Gabriel Gudmundsson picked up a second yellow card and was sent off. Despite being reduced to ten men, Leeds showed plenty of resilience after the break, battling hard to secure a valuable point.
Wayne Rooney and Gary Lineker believe Leeds are going to do enough to survive in the Premier League. However, Michael Owen has a completely different take.
Michael Owen has made a brutal Leeds relegation claim
Leeda are three points clear of the relegation zone with eight games left in the season. They do not look like a side who are walking towards relegation.
Michael Owen insisted that any of the four teams could go down, but his money is on Leeds getting relegated from the top flight, even though they are best placed among the four teams.
He feels Forest and West Ham have a few good players, and Tottenham could still change the manager if needed, with a few games left in the season.
Owen said on Premier League Productions: “It’s difficult to say who could go down [out of Leeds, Forest, Spurs and West Ham], everybody’s in trouble, but there’s only going to be one out of those four.
“You say to me now who’s going after those four, I think Leeds, even though they’ve got the most points and their goal difference isn’t too bad either.
“I like Forest, they’ve got some good players, West Ham have got some momentum, Tottenham have still got a roll of the dice, you know, if something goes wrong, they can still change manager.”
It’s a laughable prediction
Anyone who has watched Leeds this season will not say that they are the team that are going to get relegated from the Premier League.
They have just one point in their last three league games, but the results could have been different if the referees had done their jobs properly.
Leeds’ poor form has not changed their position in the table, as the other teams are not picking up results as well to drag the Whites into the bottom three.
Premier League Bottom Six – Relegation Battle

|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 15 | Leeds United | 30 | 7 | 11 | 12 | 37 | 48 | -11 | 32 |
| 16 | Tottenham Hotspur | 30 | 7 | 9 | 14 | 40 | 47 | -7 | 30 |

What’s even more weird is that Owen conceded that Leeds are best placed at the moment, but still predicted them to go down this season.
West Ham seem like a team who are going to get out of the bottom three, but Tottenham are in turmoil despite the point at Liverpool and Nottingham Forest are just not scoring goals.
Putting money on Leeds to go down amongst these four teams does not look like one of the best bets at the moment.
If we don’t start scoring goals from the chances we create, he might be right. Lets hope not coz he’s an odious little twerp.
