Leeds United were held to a 0-0 draw by Brentford at Elland Road on Saturday, picking up a point in their battle to stay in the Premier League.
It wasn’t the home win they were looking for, and it extends their winless run in the league to six games. Still, they managed to avoid defeat and add to their tally.
Elsewhere, results worked in their favour, with West Ham losing to Aston Villa and Nottingham Forest pulling off an impressive win over Tottenham, leaving Leeds 16th and four points clear of the drop.
Leeds have continued to remain at an arm’s length of the drop zone. However, West Ham legend Kevin Nolan believes the Whites could soon get dragged closer to the bottom three.

Leeds have not scored a goal in over a month. However, they have continued to pick up draws, which has allowed them to remain 15th in the table.
West Ham were disappointing in the 2-0 defeat at Aston Villa this weekend. However, Nolan believes the Hammers have done well to bring themselves into a position where they can climb out of the bottom three.
He pointed out that a win after the international break will take them over Tottenham and level on points with Forest, while ensuring the breathing room Leeds have been enjoying shrinks considerably.
Nolan said on talkSPORT: “They have done fantastically well to get themselves back in this position.
“They are a point behind Spurs, and if we get a win, we go to the same points as Forest and bring Leeds back into it.
“You can honestly see it [West Ham surviving].”
The Whites cannot continue to depend on other results
Defeats for West Ham and Tottenham on Sunday left Leeds exactly where they were before the weekend, 16th in the table and four points clear of the relegation zone.
But with the bottom of the table so tight, there’s no room for complacency, and Daniel Farke has suggested they may still need around seven more points to stay up.

With home games against Wolves and Burnley, plus a trip to Tottenham still to come, Leeds will view those fixtures as key to securing survival.
They can’t rely on other results forever; at some point, they’ll need to take control of their own fate.
