‘I love it here’ – Forshaw opens up on life at Leeds, keen on extending his current contract

Leeds United midfielder Adam Forshaw is extremely happy at the West Yorkshire club, and is open to extending his current deal which expires at the end of the season.

The Whites hierarchy have the option to extend Forshaw’s current contract, yet constant struggles with injury whilst at Leeds has led many to question whether they would do so.

Yet, with the introduction of Sam Allardyce to the Elland Road hot seat, the 31-year-old has found himself firmly back in the frame – and was even a member of the Whites XI for their trip to Manchester City last weekend.

With Leeds set to host Newcastle this Saturday in another crucial clash, it is widely expected that Forshaw will retain his place in the starting line-up for two consecutive weeks.

Forshaw looked an energetic and driven presence in the Whites midfield against City, a match in which he lasted 80 minutes, an impressive total considering his recurring fitness issues.

It is these injury concerns which have led many to speculate about the former Middlesbrough man’s future at Leeds.

The club hold the option to extend Forshaw’s contract when it expires in the summer. There appears to be no issues about negotiating a new deal from the Englishman’s perspective, who has discussed how much he loves being at Leeds to Yorkshire Evening Post.

“I want to remain in the Premier League and I’d absolutely love to stay here of course. I love it here, my family love it here.

“You know, I’ve got some really close friends, players and staff. There’s nothing more I’d wish for than to stay.”
