Leeds United head to Watford looking to continue their fine form on Good Friday, but it won’t be easy against a Hornets side full of confidence.
In their first game under interim manager Tom Cleverley, Watford grabbed an impressive 1-0 away win at Birmingham City before the international break.
It was the perfect start for Cleverley, with the 34-year-old keen on taking the job permanently and victory over table-topping Leeds in his first home game would go a long way to achieving that.
For Daniel Farke’s side it’s a chance to add to their impressive form, with 13 wins in 14 games in 2024 seeing them storm to the top of the Championship table.
Watford fans predict defeat against Leeds United
Despite victory in Cleverley’s first game, Watford fans across the internet seem less than confident their team can follow that up against Leeds.
The Hornets home form has been poor this season, with their last game at Vicarage Road against Coventry ending in a 2-1 defeat and the team being booed off at full-time.
It appears this is still in the minds of many Watford fans, with their fans on social media platform X predicting a ‘battering’ against their West Yorkshire opponents.
One fan posted: “What we saying for Leeds then? Reckon it’s gonna be a battering”, with one reply stating “I’ll take a 3-1 leeds if we show some ambition” and another saying “I’ll take a 2-0 loss as long as long as we dont get completely dominated”.

A Watford fan page then asked fans if they were confident, with the top reply stating “Confident Leeds will win no problem”, and another fan adding “I’m confident of yet another home defeat”.

In the comments section of the Watford Observer’s interview with Interim Coach Cleverley, the top reply was also pessimistic stating: “going to have to work very hard to get anything tomorrow.”
Score prediction for Leeds United’s trip to Watford
Despite the irresistible form of Leeds since the turn of the year, one slip up could see them not only give up top spot, but fall out of the automatic promotion places altogether.
The Whites only lead the table on goal difference from Leicester, who have a game in hand, with third-placed Ipswich only one point further back and ready to pounce.
James from The Watford Way podcast doesn’t think Leeds will feel the pressure though as he, like seemingly every Watford fan, is predicting Farke’s side to come out on top.
In his match preview on YouTube, he stated: “I think they are going to be absolutely relentless come Friday evening and that’s going to be too much for Watford to handle. Leeds are Premiership quality and chasing the title, so I think it will be 2-1 to Leeds.”
