Daniel Farke and Leeds United will be fairly pleased to leave Selhurst Park with a point after their 0–0 draw with Crystal Palace.
Leeds were given a golden opportunity to go ahead in the first half when they won a penalty inside the Palace box. But Dominic Calvert-Lewin dragged his effort wide, missing the chance to score his 11th Premier League goal of the season.
Matters became more difficult just before the break when Gabriel Gudmundsson was shown a second yellow card and sent off. Even so, Leeds displayed real determination in the second half, digging in with ten men to hold on for a valuable point.
Leeds remain three points clear of the relegation zone despite earning just one point from their last three Premier League games, and remain favourites to avoid the drop.
Gary Lineker makes huge Leeds relegation claim
The former England striker feels that, despite a missed penalty, it was a good point for Leeds at Selhurst Park, given they were a man down in the second half.
He is confident that Leeds are going to do enough to survive in the Premier League and predicted them to remain out of the relegation zone.
However, Lineker conceded that it is getting very tight and interesting at the bottom end of the Premier League table towards the end of the season.
Lineker said on the Rest Is Football podcast: “They got a good point as well, decent point that, they missed a penalty obviously, but they did a lot of the game with ten men.
He is right, the point at Palace is going to be valuable for Leeds
Farke may look back on the missed penalty as a defining moment, as it could easily have earned Leeds three crucial points away from home. Even so, a draw still counts as a solid result for the visitors.
Reduced to ten men, Leeds were forced to absorb plenty of pressure in the second half, while the Crystal Palace players were booed by their own fans at full-time as they made their way off the pitch.

With Nottingham Forest also dropping points, Leeds finish the gameweek still three points clear of 18th-placed West Ham.
If Leeds do manage to stay up this season, this could well be remembered as a hugely valuable point during a pivotal stretch of the campaign for Farke and his players.
2 points dropped thanks to the ref and DCL’s pathetic miss.
