Leeds United are three points clear of the drop zone in 15th, and their recent run of form has raised concerns about the potential of relegation at the end of the season.
They have picked up just one point from their last three Premier League and the home game against Brentford on Saturday is already being seen as a must-win game.
Leeds have games lined up against their fellow relegation contenders, Tottenham and West Ham, in the last eight fixtures, and the club would want to ensure they pick up enough points against other sides.
The Whites are on 32 points, and they have been told how many points they could still need to ensure that they are in the Premier League for the 2026/27 season.
Dean Saunders predicts the points tally needed for Leeds United to survive
The former Liverpool striker feels a points tally of 37 should be enough for any team to survive in the Premier League, as things are shaping up at the moment.
He also feels that, despite West Ham’s form, they are still more likely to go down as their run-in is probably the toughest of all the teams who are in danger of getting relegated.
Saunders said on talkSPORT: “I think 37 points will keep you up.
“Spurs are on 30, so that’s two wins and a draw.
“West Ham have looked like the favourites to get relegated. If you look at the stats, they have the most difficult run-in, probably.
“It’s going to be touch and go.”
It is becoming increasingly clear that a couple more wins could ensure Leeds are again in the Premier League next season.
