Leeds United were able to string together a solid run of games at the end of last year. This came after Daniel Farke managed to turn things around at Elland Road.
The Leeds boss was on the brink of getting sacked after a poor run of results, but he found a way. Changing tactics near the halfway point of the season saw the Whites go on a long unbeaten run. So in January, many fans expected some reinforcements from the 49ers to help the club survive the second half of the season.
Leeds United brought in Facundo Buonanotte on a season-long loan after missing out on him in the summer. However, the move has not worked out for the best, and there are reports that he will return to Brighton at the end of the season.
Leeds United eye £39m-rated star
Farke has been after an attacking midfielder to compliment his squad over the last year. He used Brenden Aaronson in the number 10 role in the Championship and it paid off. But now in the Premier League, the club need an upgrade in that position, and they failed to find that when they signed Facundo Buonanotte on loan.
According to SportsBoom, Leeds United are one of three clubs in England after Lyon star Pavel Sulc. The Czech international has been a revelation for the French side this season, scoring 14 goals in all competition. The playmaker has also managed 10 assists, which is the reason most clubs are eyeing him for a deal in the coming months.

Facundo Buonanotte move was a big mistake
The club pulled the trigger on signing Buonanotte as soon as he decided to leave Chelsea. The 49ers thought they were getting a player who was going to elevate the team and provide the quality Daniel Farke needed in midfield. But things have not worked out, since the Argentine arrived at the club, he has only made three appearances. He has featured in a total of just 74 minutes in all competitions, but has been left out of recent matchday squads. Farke mentioned that it was a ‘technical’ decision the last time out, but many fans knew the midfielder’s days at the club were numbered in the FA Cup game against Norwich. When Leeds were leading 3-0, Buonanotte remained on the bench for the remainder of the game. It is certain that the 21-year old returns to Brighton in the summer.
