Leeds United will return to Premier League action next week, when they take on Manchester United. The Whites came back from the international break and had an FA Cup tie on Sunday.

Leeds managed to beat West Ham despite an initial scare near the end of the game. The match ended up going to penalties with Lucas Perri saving the day for Daniel Farke’s men. Up next for Leeds is a game at Old Trafford against Manchester United, and there are already some problems ahead of the game. Anton Stach picked up an injury against West Ham and is set to be a doubt for Monday’s game.

Premier League announcement to ruin Daniel Farke’s plans

The Whites have eight league games left to save their season, beginning with a tough match against Michael Carrick’s men. And as of today, there has been a major schedule change for the Whites. Their game against Bournemouth has now been moved; it was initially set to take place on Tuesday 21st April, but will now be on Wednesday night on the 22nd.

This will play into the hands of Chelsea, who will have extra rest before both teams meet in the FA Cup semi-final on the weekend. The Blues’ last game before the Wembley tie is on the Tuesday 22nd of April. The last meeting between the two teams ended in a 2-2 draw at Stamford Bridge, with the Whites coming back from two goals down. Leeds are unbeaten against Chelsea this season, and have taken four points off them in the Premier League, which will inspire hope among the fanbase as they prepare for the semi-final clash.

Leeds United handed massive blow

The fixture change is at a disadvantage to Daniel Farke’s men. Chelsea will now have a full day’s rest instead of having the same amount of days to recover from the league fixture. This change benefits the Blues as they have a larger squad with more depth options. In their 7-0 win over Port Vale in the FA Cup quarterfinals, they had the luxury of rotating most of their starting lineup. Leeds United do not have that same luxury; their squad is very thin and there are not a lot of options who can come off the bench to change games. Most importantly, the timing of the match means that Daniel Farke will have big decisions to make on who plays both games.
