Thursday saw huge news as Leeds United midfielder Anton received a call up to the German national team for games later this month.

Stach had been earning rave reviews in his first season in England after leaving the Bundesliga in the summer. His performances for Leeds sparked conversations about if the 27-year old could find a spot in the national team ahead of the World Cup.

Earlier this month, Germany boss Julian Nagelsmann made some comments about Stach, leading to fans thinking he was far away from a call up. But in a surprise turn of events, he might play his first game for Germany since 2022.

Daniel Farke praises Leeds United star after latest career development

After getting his call up on Wednesday, Daniel Farke opened up on Anton Stach and how well he has played this season. The midfielder seems to have had a flawless adaptation to English football compared to other signings in the squad.

”Well deserved. Anton plays in the best league in the world with unbelievable consistency. Data is on a top level, adapted to English football from the first day. Many others need a bit of time to adapt to physicality, but not Anton. Fully deserves this call-up, his all-around game is very important for us winning balls, covers lots of distance, set-piece quality, goals and assists. Proven he’s versatile, too, playing in different roles. A key player for us, and if you play with this quality, you have a chance to get a call-up. One thing I can guarantee is that Germany will get a top character, a top guy. Hopefully, he can grab his chance with both hands.”

Stach has four goals and three assists in the Premier League for Leeds United this season – a bit of a surprise given his reputation as a defensive midfielder at his previous club.

Focus must be on Brentford this weekend

After picking up just one point in their last three league games, Leeds have to bounce back. They are already in trouble as their six-point gap above the relegation zone has been cut to three points. And with so many teams within just points of each other, the Whites could find themselves in the relegation zone if results do not go their way this weekend. Daniel Farke must find a way to get his troops together to try and get a huge result at Elland Road on Saturday night.
