Leeds United and West Ham are currently in the Premier League relegation battle. Wolves and Burnley look like the two clubs that are guaranteed to be relegated.
But the third slot is now a battle between multiple teams including Forest, Spurs, West Ham and Leeds. On Sunday the Hammers and the Whites clashed in the FA Cup quarter-final, which was surprising given their form in the league. Daniel Farke’s side looked to be cruising to a semi-final place, having lead 2-0 with less than 20 minutes to go.
The Hammers scored twice in the space of three minutes to force the game into extra time. And they could have won the tie, but they had a goal ruled out in the first half of the added period. Lucas Perri saved two spot kicks to see his side through to the next round.
West Ham file complaint after FA Cup exit
Leeds United will face Chelsea in the FA Cup semi-final later this month. Daniel Farke will have some decisions to make, with the Premier League having shifted their match before the semi-final 24 hours after Chelsea’s game.
West Ham have reportedly submitted a complaint to FIFA after the FA Cup tie. The Hammers’ complaint is regarding their defender Aaron Wan-Bissaka, who was absent in the defeat to Leeds United on Sunday. Wan-Bissaka was not even in the squad on the day, but was back in DR Congo celebrating their World Cup qualification. The Athletic are reporting that West Ham claim DR Congo did not allow the defender to report to England in time for the game. The Hammers are saying that they did not sanction Wan Bissaka’s absence. The defender had a flight to London scheduled, but did not report for his departure. He was then spotted in an open-top bus parade in DR Congo celebrating the World Cup qualification.

Leeds United have to shift focus ahead of Premier League return
The club needs to celebrate their return to Wembley in the FA Cup for the first time since the 1980s, but now they must return their focus to league action. The Whites face Manchester United next Monday at Old Trafford. Daniel Farke’s men have not been the best on the road, but the club have gotten a few huge results. With eight games left in the league, Leeds must find a way to get maximum points to secure their return to the top flight.
