Champions League side plan major swoop for Leeds star in 2027

A few years ago, Leeds United were struggling to keep their best players at the club. Even when they were in the Premier League, they managed to lose Kalvin Phillips and Raphinha.

The offers from Manchester City Barcelona were just too good to turn down for a club looking towards a future project.

Relegation led to mass departures, as many players that were signed for the top flight jumped ship before a ball was kicked in the Championship. The last time the Whites lost their best players was in the summer of 2024.

Fresh off losing the play-off final to Southampton, the club had to take major decisions on key players.

Georgino Rutter, Crysencio Summerville and Archie Gray all joined Premier League clubs.

The 49ers have brought a lot of financial stability since, with the club not being forced to sell their best players in recent years. The only major departure has been Pascal Struijk who decided to seek a new challenge.

And this summer, Leeds United stepped up their recruitment, drafting in real quality.

The club added James Trafford, Nico Elvedi, Tarik Muharemovic and Jean-Matteo Bahoya in a very exciting window built for the future.

According to TEAMtalk, Bayern Munich have lined up Muharemovic as their priority target for 2027. The report adds that an approach in January is not unrealistic with the Bundesliga side very high on the player.

They believe that a move next summer will be the main approach for the 23-year old. The Bosnian has started this year so well after making the switch from Sassuolo.

It has taken him almost zero time to adapt to the league, and he is comfortably among the best players at Elland Road in this campaign.

Leeds are firm in their stance on Muharemovic

It is very early in Muharemovic’s career, but Leeds United maintain their stance over the last few weeks – He is not for sale.

Barcelona and Inter Milan have been linked with moves for the young defender. The Italian side were reportedly keen on a move before the 49ers swooped in and sealed the deal.

Club chiefs at Elland Road rate the Bosnian highly and are not willing to part ways anytime soon.

In any case, if top clubs in Europe badly want the Leeds star, they will have to cough up record fees seeing the value of players in the recent summer window.

Here we go again Kwadwo … speculating before a new Leeds signing has managed to get his feet under the table. TM has, so far, played just 5 PL games and a couple of Carabao Cup games. It may be that other clubs are already coveting Tarik Muharemović but, at this stage he is a Leeds United player with a 5 year contract in place. For the sake of his progression as a player, he couldn’t be at a better club. The club have a major project in place and to start to sell their best players would be suicidal for them. Allegedly they have already stated “Tarik Muharemović is not for sale, at any price”. I’m sure Tarik is ambitious so, perhaps, he can realise that ambition by helping the club that believed in him enough to pay a ‘big fee’ for his signature achieve their own ambitions.
