Diego Llorente arrives in Rome ahead of loan switch

According to Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, Diego Llorente is in Rome today ahead of a loan deal to AS Roma.

The Spaniard has only made eight appearances in the Premier League season, being an unused substitute in 11 games. Di Marzio reports that Llorente’s arrival means Roma left-back Matheus Vina can complete a move to Bournemouth.

Fabrizio Romano also reported the details of the loan deal on his Twitter account:

“AS Roma are closing in on deal to sign Diego Llorente from Leeds on loan with buy option clause, agreement in place. Clubs are set to complete contracts to get it signed today.”

Leeds United signed Diego Llorente from Real Sociedad for a reported fee of £18 million in 2020. The defender recently signed a new contract that extended his current deal to 2026.
