Fabrizio Romano confirms major exit twist at Leeds United relegation rivals

Fabrizio Romano

Leeds United are only three points clear of the relegation zone and will be desperate to pick up a result when they travel to Selhurst Park to face Crystal Palace on Sunday.

Back-to-back home defeats against Manchester City and Sunderland have wiped out what once looked like a comfortable buffer, pulling Leeds firmly back into the relegation fight.

With West Ham finding form and Nottingham Forest starting to show signs of improvement, Leeds know a positive result this weekend is crucial if they are to avoid dropping into the bottom three.

However, Tottenham look the likelier side to drop into the bottom three, and the trouble at Spurs is only getting compounded with Cristian Romero looking for an exit route.

Tottenham crisis deepens with Romero keen on looking for the exit route amid relegation dogfight

Tottenham have been on a historic six-game losing streak in all competitions and have not won a Premier League game since the turn of the year.

They are just two points ahead of the relegation zone and have been on a free fall over the last few months. The current turmoil is threatening to consume them.

Spurs could sack interim boss Igor Tudor, who just took charge last month. However, the club are now dealing with rumours of their club captain, Romero, wanting to leave the sinking ship.

Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that the defender could leave Spurs in the summer transfer window, regardless of their finish to the season.

Several clubs are interested in the Spurs captain, and his representatives have already received enquiries about his situation at Tottenham.

He signed a new contract after Spurs won the Europa League last season. However, he looks to be on his way out of the club at the end of the ongoing campaign.

Leeds are far more stable than Spurs

Daniel Farke’s men have lost back-to-back league games for the first time since November and are now just three points clear of the relegation zone.

Another bad result at Palace on Sunday could be huge, but Leeds do not resemble a club that are destined to go down to the Championship this season.

However, Tottenham are resembling exactly a club who are doomed for relegation from the Premier League this season.

Managerial turmoil, poor results, disastrous performances and comical mistakes on the pitch – the recipe for relegation seems ready at Spurs.

The north London club look to be on their way out of the Premier League, and mistakes on and off the pitch are the clear harbingers of doom at Tottenham.
