The last meeting between Leeds United and Manchester United was a tightly contested game. Many would have thought that the Whites would be easily beaten, but they held strong at Elland Road.
Leeds took the lead in the second half through Brenden Aaronson, only for Matheus Cunha to equalize just minutes later. Daniel Farke’s men were able to hang on for a point, which was very impressive given their run of form. The two sides meet on Monday night in what marks the beginning of a long stretch of fixtures for Leeds United.
The Whites will be looking to claw themselves out of the relegation zone by getting results from their last eight games of the season. Manchester United on the other hand, can secure their place in Europe over the coming games.
Paul Merson makes bold claim ahead of Leeds United game
There are going to be a lot of high stakes involved in the game, with different priorities in sight. Michael Carrick’s side will have the upper hand, going into the game with three wins in their last five. Leeds United have only managed two points from their last four league games.
| Competition | Wins | Draws | Losses |

Paul Merson believes that the Whites can get a point at Old Trafford, saying that he does not believe Manchester United can get a convincing result.
”If you look at the fixtures, Manchester United should have enough to qualify for the Champions League next season. But this is still a difficult game.” he wrote in his sportskeeda column.
”Manchester United’s focus should only be on getting back in the Champions League. If they can stay in that competition, it gives them good money to build their squad. Now we’re used to seeing them play just once a week, but that isn’t where this club belongs and they need to get back up there quick.”
”I have a feeling Leeds will get a point here.”

Daniel Farke could struggle to get a result at Old Trafford
This weekend, the Whites will face a much different Manchester United side than the one that visited Elland Road. The reds are in very decent form, and are eager to secure a place in Europe. Leeds also have survival on their minds, but the fact that the Red Devils are in form and it is an away game swings the tie in their favour. Daniel Farke’s men have not won an away game since October, and have only managed draws in recent road trips. Manchester United have won five straight games at Old Trafford, which will be a daunting task for the Whites come Monday night.
