Erling Haaland is known for being a Leeds United fan, and supporters have often fantasised about him playing for the Whites at some point in his career.
He was born in Leeds when his father was there, and while he is far from the club’s reach at the moment, the Manchester City striker has never hidden his love for the Yorkshire giants.
Haaland won one more trophy on Sunday when Manchester City beat Arsenal in the EFL Cup final at Wembley as he continues to rack up medals in English football.
However, amid the celebrations, the forward again showed his love for Leeds and the feelings he still has for the club his father represented in the past.
Erling Haaland reacts to Leeds chant at Wembley
Manchester City and Haaland picked up one more trophy after they beat Arsenal at Wembley on Sunday, and the striker celebrated hard after the victory.
However, amid all the celebrations, Haaland’s love for Leeds came out when a Whites supporter on the Wembley steps confronted him.
His status in world football, coupled with his soaring value, means Haaland is unlikely to ever play for Leeds.
However, Leeds fans can take solace from the fact that the best striker in the world remains an unapologetic fan of the club.
His record against the Whites is not great yet
Haaland has won each of the three games he has played against Leeds in Manchester City colours. However, has only scored twice – a brace in the 2022/23 season.
He failed to score in the next two games and missed Manchester City’s 1-0 win over Leeds at Elland Road earlier this month due to a knock.
Leeds will hope that they will get more opportunities to face Haaland next season by securing Premier League safety in the last seven games of the season.
Haaland will likely score more against Leeds as long as he stays in England. However, he will remain a fan of the club for life.
