Leeds United are up against Crystal Palace this weekend as they continue their fight for survival. Daniel Farke will be hoping his team manage to bounce back after two disastrous results.

Failing to get a point against Manchester City and Sunderland has done a lot of harm over the past week. The Whites’ relegation rivals managed to close the gap, and now Leeds have to be looking over their shoulders. With nine league games to go, anything is possible, but the club are in real danger if they are not able to get a huge result on the board.

Darren Bent backs Leeds United over Spurs in Premier League relegation battle

Over the past few weeks, Tottenham have found themselves in the middle of the relegation battle after a series of poor results. They are two points behind Leeds United with a very difficult fixture schedule. Former Spurs striker Darrent Bent feels that the Whites have one advantage over the London club:

“It would have never crossed Spurs’ mentality in terms of the players or anyone associated with the club that we can go down. When you’re actually in it, you need a different mentality to go out of it; you get players who go, ‘I aren’t going to be here next season anyway’. You get all that going on… West Ham have been relegated in more recent times, so have Nottingham Forest, so have Burnley, Leeds have as well, so Spurs are in amongst teams who have that mentality that have been down there before.”

Daniel Farke’s men will face Spurs in the final month of fixtures this season. That match is set to be a crucial relegation clash in the making if both clubs continue in this current form.

Players need to step up at the end of the season

In the Whites’ last two defeats, the script was similar – they dominated and conceded against the run of play and were never able to get back into the match. After conceding, the team lost their concentration and were not able to play. With these last nine games, Daniel Farke and the players need to be alert from start to finish; they cannot afford any more slip ups. Leeds United need to find another gear from now till the end of the season; they did this in the run to end last year, and they can definitely do it again.
