Harry Gray decided to join Rotherham United on loan in the winter transfer after not getting any first-team opportunities at Leeds United in the first half of the season.
He made his debut for Leeds towards the end of last season at just 16. However, Daniel Farke has been keen to shield him away from the spotlight and keep him out of the first-team squad.
The 17-year-old striker largely played for the Under-21s, and he eventually decided to take up an offer to join League One side Rotherham on loan in the winter window.
He has scored two league goals for the struggling third-tier side, who are fighting hard to secure their League One status towards the end of the season.
Harry Gray injury update issued
Rotherham boss Matt Hamshaw replaced Harry Gray in the 1-0 loss against Huddersfield Town on Saturday after he looked in obvious discomfort on the pitch.
The teenager looked like one of the more threatening attackers on the pitch, and Hamshaw conceded that he didn’t really want to take him off at that point.
However, he was worried that Gray could have aggravated his injury and admitted that he is ready to take on Bolton Wanderers on Saturday.
“He’s fine”, Hamshaw told the Rotherham Advertiser.
“I think we did the right thing bringing him off. I didn’t really want to, if I’m going to be honest, but leaving him on could have led to something a lot more extensive.”
Rotherham need him to be fit for the run-in
The League One side sit 22nd in the standings and three points off safety with 11 games left in the season. They are in desperate need of results.
Gray has scored just twice in the league since joinig Rotherham, but he has looked like one of their more threatening attackers since he arrived at the club.

Hamshaw has been keen to keep him on the pitch as much as possible, and was not pleased to take him off in the defeat against Huddersfield.
The experience at Rotherham has been a good grounding for the teenager, who is likely to be better after the experience in the lower leagues of English football.
Leeds hope that Gray will be playing on bigger stages in the coming years. But helping a struggling side to avoid relegation will stand him in good stead.
