The international break has drawn to a close and Leeds United stars will be on the next flight to England. One first team star had a moment with an Arsenal legend on TV after a game.

Some players at the club have taken the chance to make a statement going forward.

Jaka Bijol was a key piece as Slovenia managed to pick up seven points from 15 in their Nations League games. Dan James also scored for Wales as he proved he is still capable of making an impact.

It was not a great international break for other Leeds stars.

Jean-Matteo Bahoya picked up an ankle injury while on duty with the France U21s and Dominic Calvert-Lewin got just 20 minutes in four games with England during the break.

Leeds United star Gabriel Gudmundsson shared a light hearted moment with former Arsenal man Freddie Ljungberg following Sweden’s win over Romania.

Ljungberg called Gudmundsson ‘Gudis’ during the match, and after the game the left back shared his thoughts on it.

He told Expressen that he prefers not to be called that name because it was what they called his father Niklas Gudmundsson back in the day.

“No, I hope not. It’s more dad who has been called that. He gets to keep it. I’m happy with what I have.”

The Leeds star then spoke about his relationship with Ljungberg.

“Of course, we talk a little bit when I’m in Stockholm. Of course, he’s from Halmstad. Of course, there is a bit of a buzz about it. It’s fun,”

Whites handed huge boost with Gabriel Gudmundsson’s status

The left back was taken off early in his last game for Sweden, which raised some concerns, but later the player said everything was fine.

Gudmundsson will return from this international break without an injury, which will be great news to Daniel Farke. The Swedish international has not had the best of luck in recent months.

He was injured before the World Cup, and had to be managed even during the tournament.

An injury in pre-season also kept him out for the start of the season. Gudmundsson’s injur woes played a part in why the club went out to sign Melvin Bard as cover on deadline day.

Having him fit going forward is a huge boost to the team; he provides stability down the left flank.

Remarkable is it not that this article states Slovenia earned seven points out of fifteen from four games. Basic arithmetic errors impact negatively on your already dubious credibility.
