Leeds United boss Daniel Farke has been vocal about the lack of quality in attack last season. The club only spent £18 million on Noah Okafor, with the only other additions being free agents.
Things worked out pretty well at the end of the season as the Whites avoided relegation and finished in 14th place.
A large part of that was due to Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Lukas Nmecha who chipped in with crucial goals through the campaign. Okafor was also decisive in the final months of the season.
Despite how good these additions were, Leeds lacked a cutting edge.
There were multiple games where the club would fail to create any meaningful chances.
Leeds United offer three-year deal to attacking midfielder
The arrival of Harry Wilson this summer will be a big boost to Daniel Farke. The former Fulham man is a goal threat as well as a creator from out wide; 11 goals and eight assists last season.
And now, it looks like Leeds United are about to double down on attacking threats.
Journalist Nicolo Schira has reported that the club have offered Julian Brandt a three-year deal up until 2029. Brandt’s father was at Thorp Arch this week as he met the club officially.
Nothing has been confirmed, but it does look like the Whites are now firmly in the race to sign him.
Julian Brandt ended last season with 11 goals and four assists in all competitions for Borussia Dortmund.

What is Leeds’ stance on Julian Brandt?
In Graham Smyth’s Q&A about the transfer window this week, he touched on the situation with Brandt.
According to him, the visit from his father alluded to the fact that the player is taking Leeds’ pitch seriously. Jurgen Brandt was also seen visiting Real Betis in the last few weeks, showing that the free agent is weighing his options.
The fact is that it will take a lot to convince the attacking midfielder to move to West Yorkshire.
He was playing Champions League football last season with Borussia Dortmund. However, the 49ers have shown they are persuading, especially after signing Harry Wilson ahead of Aston Villa and Everton.
Leeds also landed Tarik Muharemovic over other European and Premier League clubs.
If Leeds really do want Brandt, they can get him but it will take a lot of work. The club’s project has attracted many top stars already, so the midfielder will not feel out of place.
Still need Trafford and maybe Delap?
