Daniel Farke had the final say on the Leeds United squad heading into the season. So before the training camp in the summer, most players had known if they were part of the plans.
Players like Patrick Bamford were left in England, with the striker terminating his contract to leave on a free. Mateo Joseph was sent out on loan after refusing to join pre-season, and Max Wober and Isaac Schmidt had to find new clubs. One of the more shocking decisions after letting go of Bamford was bringing back Jack Harrison.
Leeds United set to find new buyer for loan star
Farke hinted that the squad needed experience at the Premier League level, and the winger could provide just that. Fans were a bit confused as Harrison had spent consecutive seasons out on loan, pushing to leave the club on a permanent deal. But he was part of the team for the first half of the season. Jack Harrison barely played and was limited to cameos, so when January came around, he left on loan to Fiorentina in Italy.

It was later revealed by Daniel Farke that the winger pushed for the exit. He joined the Serie A side on loan with an option to buy. His early days looked bright as he gave an assist in his first few games. Since then, he has been a real liability, and has only added one goal contribution since. The latest out of Italy is that Fiorentina will not be signing him on a permanent deal. Now, Football Insider are reporting that Leeds United will allow the 29-year old to leave the club on a permanent deal.

49ers made a horrible decisions bringing Jack Harrison back
It was a terrible decision from the board and Daniel Farke to bring Harrison back. His last two seasons on loan at Everton showed that he is not cut out for Premier League level anymore. Expecting him to provide adequate depth was a very bad decision from everyone involved. And it has spectacularly backfired now; Fiorentina do not want to sign him, and when he returns this summer, Leeds will definitely not want to keep him. So it has been a waste of time and resources, considering that the club could have at least signed someone useful in his place.
Star player? That’s a long, long stretch.
