Leeds United have a tough game against Aston Villa in the Premier League this weekend. But they know that another result could push them closer to safety.
The Whites are coming from a huge win in the FA Cup that sees them progress to the fifth round – a rare occurrence under Daniel Farke. Leeds’ last two games show that the club will put in their last efforts to maintain their Premier League status no matter the cost.
Beating Nottingham Forest and getting a dramatic draw away to Chelsea has seen the Whites move up to 15th in the Premier League, with the possibility to go even higher this weekend.
Crystal Palace ponder Oliver Glasner sack
The relationship between Crystal Palace and Oliver Glasner has deterioated since the season started. The Austrian has been in charge for a short time and has brought the club immense success, securing the FA Cup and taking them to Europe this season. He has done that with a limited budget while losing some of his best players every transfer window. Things seemed to reach a boiling point in January when Eagles skipper Marc Guehi was allowed to join Manchester City in the middle of the campaign.
Since then, Palace have been in a terrible run of form, winning just one game since the start of December. Things are not going well in the Premier League, and the club have now slipped down to 13th place, just two points above Leeds United. Fabrizio Romano is now exclusively reporting that the Crystal Palace board is discussing the future of Oliver Glasner. It has been accepted that he will leave in the summer, but the club could pull the trigger in the immediate future.
A win for Leeds United this weekend, and Palace dropping points could see them drawn into the relegation fight.

Eagles could learn from Leeds United
When Leeds United were down on their luck around November, many tipped Daniel Farke to be sacked. The team could not pick up any points and the performances were poor. However, the 49ers did not lose hope and decided to keep Farke at the helm. He has now slowly guided Leeds up the table, and survival is looking achievable after each week.
Palace getting rid of Oliver Glasner now would be a huge mistake; there is no coach who can turn the season around with 12 games to go. The sensible option would be to keep the Austrian around.
