Leeds United deserved more from their game against Manchester City at Elland Road. The Whites were arguably the better side throughout the 90 minutes, but failed to even secure a point.
The home crowd was fully behind the team when they swarmed Pep Guardiola’s men in the first half. Their press made it difficult for the away side to even progress the ball, and City barely got into dangerous areas. If Leeds took their chances on Saturday, it would have been a much different conversation. But Pep Guardiola’s side did what all great sides do, and took one of their only clear chances in front of goal.
Leeds United receive major injury boost
The match was not the best for the fans, Leeds could not score and struggled to create openings in the second half. After the loss, Leeds United boss Daniel Farke was also sent off by the referee after the final whistle. Things also seemed bleak when Joe Rodon left the pitch in the 87th minute with what looked like an injury.
Daniel Farke has now confirmed in Monday’s press conference that the defender will be available to face Sunderland.
”Joe Rodon had some problems with his hamstring. Unclear if it was a cramp or a light injury. We have scanned and assessed, and he seems to be okay, so I expect him to be available for tomorrow.
”The only little question mark after the last game was James Justin because it was a straight leg against him, and he needed to be stitched up.
”He’s also a tough boy, so hope he’s available. As it stands, I just expect Noah Okafor to be out for this game.”

Whites can bounce back against Sunderland
It was a crushing defeat on Saturday, but the club have the chance to redeem themselves on Tuesday night. Leeds face Sunderland at Elland Road, which is a big advantage considering how well they have played there this season. Since December, the Whites have suffered just two defeats at their home ground.
Sunderland will be a much different opponent than Manchester City; the game will be on a more level playing field. Sunderland on the other hand, have failed to win any of their last five away matches. This game is the perfect opportunity for Daniel Farke’s men to bounce back and make a statement ahead of the final stretch of games in the campaign.
