Leeds United U21s vs Newcastle United U21s match preview

The young Whites are back in action tomorrow night against Newcastle United U21s. their first game since the 3-0 demolishing of Derby County U21s. 

Fresh off an impressive victory against Derby County at Thorp Arch, Scott Gardner’s squad is riding high on confidence.

Winger Joe Snowdon’s early strike, orchestrated by forward Luca Thomas, set the tone, followed swiftly by Snowdon’s brace courtesy of captain Charlie Crew’s astute playmaking. Defender Reuben Lopata-White joined the scoring spree, securing a comfortable lead before halftime.

Now, just two points shy of their upcoming opponents, Leeds United eyes a chance to leapfrog Newcastle after the Magpies stumbled against Fulham in their last fixture.

Despite midfielder Jamie Miley’s efforts to level the score, Newcastle succumbed to a 3-1 defeat, granting Fulham a decisive victory.

In their past encounter, Leeds United emerged victorious, clinching promotion to the Premier League 2 last season. Max Dean’s hat-trick led to a resounding 4-1 win at home, followed by a hard-fought 2-2 draw on Tyneside, with Mateo Joseph and Charlie Allen finding the net for the Whites.

Don’t expect many changes if any following such an important result. With the U21s currently sitting just above the last position, they will be hoping to get the result and go above Newcastle United as they fight to stay in the division.
