Leeds United begin their run-in to end the season when they face off against Manchester United at Old Trafford. The last time both sides met ended in a draw at Elland Road.

It was part of the Whites’ run where they went unbeaten for over 10 games. This time around both teams come into the game in contrasting forms. Leeds have won just two points from their last four games, while Manchester United have won three of their last five league games.

Michael Carrick has done a great job since taking over and is guiding the Red Devils back into a European spot. Daniel Farke on the other hand, has eight games to go to save his season. Monday night’s clash has been made even more difficult with West Ham picking up three points on Friday night.

Manchester United star a doubt ahead of Leeds United clash

Leeds United have their injury worries with Anton Stach and Joe Rodon out for the visit to Old Trafford. Noah Okafor and Dan James are also doubts for the game. Manchester United also have a couple of injuries; Michael Carrick revealed that Lisandro Martinez is a doubt to return to the first team to play on Monday night.

“It’s just that call we make,” Carrick told reporters in Saturday’s press conference.

“We wouldn’t be pushed into anything. It’s important that the boys are ready, as important as the next game always is, the most important is always the bigger picture.

“So, that’s a decision that we’ll take. He’s back training, which is great, and back on the grass, but we’ve certainly got to make the right decision and make sure he’s ready.”

Patrick Dorgu and Matthijs de Ligt are also expected to be doubts to face Leeds.

Daniel Farke has blueprint for tough away game

Leeds are yet to win a game on the road in the Premier League since October, but Daniel Farke has steadily been taking points off big teams. The Whites have not lost in their last four games including difficult visits to Villa Park and Stamford Bridge. In these games, Farke set his team up to sit off the ball and pounce on the counter attack. And this worked wonders, with defensive solidity being the key. If Leeds are able to keep out Manchester United, then there is every chance they can get a result on Monday night.
