Leeds United have a tough task when they return to league action in the next week. They have to face Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal who came into the international break on a bad note.

The Gunners were beaten 3-0 by Brighton, and were completely outplayed on the day.

One would think that Arsenal will be keen to start on the right foot when the Premier League resumes. The pressure will be on them even more, considering that they are at home.

Leeds are just three points behind their upcoming opponents after five games.

They have also been off to an impressive start, having navigated the start to their league games unbeaten.

Arsenal suffered a huge blow on Thursday night as Christos Tzolis went off injured in Greece’s Nations League game.

It was later revealed that he suffered a hamstring injury just 18 minutes into the match. Greece boss Ivan Jovanovic has said that the extent of the injury is unknown as Tzolis could have aggravated it.

“I told him to come off because I suspected that he wouldn’t do that unless he had felt something. I think it was a scene that everyone saw, those who were nearby.

“I told him to get out, because I suspected that he wouldn’t have done that if he hadn’t felt something. We don’t know how much damage was done today, but I hoped it was just a twitch, something temporary.”

As thigs stand, the Arsenal man could be ruled out for the upcoming game which is in just eigth days.

Gunners could be without four other players

Christos Tzolis may not be the only absentee for Mikel Arteta’s side ahead of the Leeds United clash.

William Saliba remains without a timeline on his recovery; his back injury has seen him miss the start of the year. Declan Rice will most likely be available for the match after withdrawing from England duty.

Ben White, Martin Odegaard and Cristhian Mosquera are also major doubts for the game.

Leeds themselves will have a injury concern, with Harry Wilson having been ruled out of the international break with a quad injury. Outside that, Daniel Farke is not expected to have any injury concerns.

The game at the Emirates Stadium will be very important to both sides at this point of the season.
