This weekend is set to be a crucial one for Leeds United in their battle for survival. Coming off the back of a huge FA Cup triumph, the Whites are back in Premier League action.

Daniel Farke’s men will have to get a result at Selhurst Park this weekend after their recent run of results. Two defeats in the space of four days has seen their relegation rivals close the gap. And with nine games to go, anything can happen – but now the club have been dragged back into the relegation scrap.

The bottom of the table is packed, with just three points separating four teams including West Ham, Leeds, Nottingham Forest and Spurs.

West Ham dealt huge blow with injury to star player

The Hammers have been dealt a huge blow ahead of their clash with Manchester City this weekend; they will be without star player Crysencio Summerville. The former Leeds United winger picked up an injury in West Ham’s FA Cup game.

“We have Summerville that is out,” Espirito Santo said in this week’s press conference.

“We will assess him day by day and see how he goes but he’s not available for the game.

“We’re going to miss him as he’s an important player for us, but we will miss him for this game, for sure.”

Premier League 24 5 1
FA Cup 3 2 1
TOTAL 27 7 2

Summerville has been by far one of the Hammers’ best players this season, and their run in the last few weeks has seen him score seven goals in their last 11 games in all competitions. After a slow start to his career in London, the former Leeds man is slowly becoming a key figure at the club.

Leeds United have a huge opportunity to capitalize this weekend

This weekend could be pivotal for Leeds United; their relegation rivals are all involved in very tough games. West Ham face Manchester City, Forest take on Fulham and Spurs are up against Liverpool. The Whites play on Sunday, which gives them the added advantage of knowing the result they will need when all their rivals play. Daniel Farke has to make sure the club get something from Selhurst Park – even a draw would do. Losing three games in a row at this point of the season will be very hard to recover from.
