Leeds United sit just three points above the relegation zone and will be desperate for a result when they travel to Selhurst Park to face Crystal Palace on Sunday.
Consecutive home defeats to Manchester City and Sunderland have eaten into what once looked like a comfortable cushion, dragging Leeds back into the thick of the relegation battle.
With West Ham picking up form and Nottingham Forest beginning to show signs of improvement, Leeds know they need a positive result this weekend to avoid slipping into the bottom three.
Gary Neville and the panel on The Overlap have been debating which teams could be relegated or stay up, and the former defender has had his say on Leeds.
Leeds get the vote of confidence from Gary Neville
The possibility of Tottenham getting relegated from the Premier League has emerged as a huge storyline with nine games left in the league season.
Spurs have not won a game in 2026, and are considering sacking Igor Tudor, who they appointed as their interim boss just last month.
Neville insisted that Spurs going down and clubs such as Leeds and Sunderland staying up this season would be a great advertisement for the Premier League.
He insisted that it has not been healthy that promoted teams have been going straight back down to the Championship after just one season in the top flight.
Neville said, “I must admit, seeing Tottenham go down, it wouldn’t be great for Tottenham fans, but it would be very good for the Premier League from a competitive perspective.
“The idea of Leeds staying up, Sunderland staying up, because I was worried that every club that came up would go straight back down again.
“The Premier League doesn’t necessarily need Tottenham to go down; they need clubs other than the ones who have come up to go down. It would be sad if they went down, but maybe they’ve had it coming.”
The Whites need a result at Palace on Sunday
Leeds are not playing like a team who are set to go down, but two unlucky defeats have left them just three points away from the drop zone.
West Ham’s form has been a concern for every team who are sitting just outside the relegation zone, and this weekend could see a major shake-up at the bottom end of the table.

Daniel Farke’s men need a result at Palace as another defeat could easily see them slip into the drop zone if other results do not go their way.
Leeds cannot afford to depend on other teams to keep dropping points and need to get something from Selhurst Park to ensure that they control their own fate.
