Leeds United will be in action later this evening when they take on Manchester United at Old Trafford in a big Premier League clash.
The Whites are on a winless run of six Premier League games at the moment. However, they have still managed to keep themselves out of trouble.
Nottingham Forest and West Ham, both teams below Leeds in the table, picked up points in the last round of league games. However, the Whites will remain 15th in the table regardless of the result tonight.
Tottenham’s defeat at Sunderland on Sunday means Spurs are now in the drop zone after a run of seven defeats in eight league games, and they are now staring down the barrel amid a grim verdict from Michael Owen.
Michael Owen drops a grim reality check for Tottenham
Tottenham’s 1-0 defeat at Sunderland pushed them into the relegation zone, and they look like a team sleepwalking towards a drop to the Championship this season.
Michael Owen has conceded that he is far more worried for Tottenham because, despite having several attackers on the pitch, they looked toothless in the final third at the Stadium of Light.
He stressed that if they cannot score goals, Tottenham are almost certain to get relegated from the Premier League this season.
Owen said on Premier League productions: “They played Richarlison, Solanki and Kolo-Muani, they have got attacking players there, but they don’t look like scoring at the moment.
“If you are down at the bottom and you don’t look like scoring, you are in big trouble; they are in serious trouble.
“There was a point gained by Nottingham Forest, three points on Friday night for West Ham as well.
“Things are looking bleak, and not long to go in the season as well.”
Leeds need a win soon
Daniel Farke’s team have continued to remain resilient and hard to beat. However, a winless run of six games has made relegation more of a possibility.
Tottenham’s regression has allowed Leeds to stay away from the relegation zone, but they only have a three-point buffer at the moment.
They will be up against a Manchester United side who have lost just once since Michael Carrick took charge and are sitting comfortably in third in the Premier League table.
However, Leeds need something from Old Trafford, and Farke’s men need to produce something special to get a win over Manchester United.
A win at this stage of the season may almost guarantee them safety, given Spurs have not won a game since the turn of the year.
