West Ham’s 1-1 draw against Manchester City on Saturday has piled the pressure on Leeds United to get something from their trip to Crystal Palace today.

Leeds lost their last two Premier League games, and they are now just two points clear of the relegation zone ahead of taking the pitch at Selhurst Park in a few hours.

Daniel Farke is aware that his team need something from their trip to London to avoid more pressure on the team at the business end of the season.

Some pundits are now worried about Leeds, but a former Liverpool star feels the Whites may not have to worry about getting relegated from the Premier League this season.

Neil Mellor makes Leeds United relegation claim

Liverpool are set to host a Tottenham team today who are on a six-game losing streak in all competitions and have not won a league game since the turn of the year.

Mellor insisted that the north London club are looking like a side who are sleepwalking towards relegation from the Premier League this season.

He pointed out that West Ham played well against Liverpool recently and indicated that he cannot see Leeds finishing in the bottom three as well.

Mellor, asked about whether Tottenham could go down, said on LFC TV: “Definitely, definitely.

“We have just played these teams.

“We played West Ham, and they had a go and created some chances at Anfield.

“You look at Leeds at home, do you see them going down?”

If results pan out in a certain way today, Tottenham could find themselves in the bottom three by the end of the current gameweek.

Spurs are the team to watch in the relegation race

Leeds United are under a bit of pressure to produce a positive result against Crystal Palace today after suffering back-to-back Premier League defeats. Dropping more points would certainly increase the tension around Elland Road, but Daniel Farke’s side still do not look like a team destined for relegation just yet.

There is still enough quality and organisation in the Leeds squad to believe they can steady the ship, and a strong performance at Selhurst Park would go a long way towards easing any growing nerves among supporters.

16 Tottenham Hotspur 29 7 8 14 39 46 -7 29

19 Burnley 30 4 8 18 32 58 -26 20
20 Wolverhampton Wanderers 30 3 7 20 22 52 -30 16

Tottenham, meanwhile, look like a side in complete free fall, with very little going right for them on the pitch at the moment.

Uncertainty over the manager, a run of poor results, flat and uninspiring performances, rising frustration among supporters and a series of costly mistakes during matches have all combined to create a deeply worrying situation at Spurs.

Right now, the north London club appear to be drifting in the wrong direction, with problems both on and off the field continuing to mount and increasingly suggesting that Tottenham could be heading for serious trouble if things do not change quickly.
