News emerged on Wednesday morning that Leeds United were set to lose a first team player. This came hours after the club announced their squad list for their training camp in the US.
Four players were left out of the list; Max Wober, Joe Gelhardt, Largie Ramazani and Jack Harrison.
Ramazani is still a serious target for Valencia who are waiting on Leeds to lower their asking price. As it stands, the Whites want to recoup most of the £10 million transfer fee they paid.
Jack Harrison was also linked with a recent move to the MLS.
Sky Austria and BILD reported earlier today that Max Wober had travelled to Austria to complete a medical. The defender is set to move to Schalke, despite no agreement having been reached with Leeds.
Leeds United in talks to terminate defender’s contract
When the news emerged about Wober, many were perplexed as to how Wober was to leave this summer.
The Athletic have now revealed that Leeds United are in talks with the Austrian to terminate his contract. The defender spent last season on loan with Werder Bremen in the Bundesliga.
He only managed to make two substitute appearances in the league, playing just 35 minutes.
Leeds will not recoup any of the £10 million they spent when they signed him on a permanent deal from Red Bull Salzburg in 2023. Wober is set to leave after making less than 30 appearances for the Whites.
The defender will be the latest to leave Elland Road after Pascal Struijk and Isaac Schmidt.

Why Leeds allowed Max Wober to leave for free
Wober was told to find a new club last year, before he joined Bremen on loan last season.
So his exit was inevitable, especially as he had no future under Daniel Farke. Leeds will not be pleased with not having recouped any of the £10 million they spent on the Austrian in 2023.
But in hindsight, this was the best decision on the table.
Max Wober has played little to no first team football in the last two seasons. His campaigns have been disrupted due to serious injuries in those periods, and when he has been available he did not play.
Keeping him beyond this summer window was never going to be ideal for Leeds United.
So negotiating with the player to terminate his contract works best as both parties come together to make an agreement.
