Bielsa misses out on Everton job despite holding talks in London

According to Sky Sports News, Sean Dyche will be appointed as the new Everton head coach ahead of Marcelo Bielsa.

The Toffees sacked Frank Lampard after an abysmal start to the season with only three wins in 20 games so far. Last week, former Leeds coach Marcelo Bielsa arrived in London to hold talks with Everton, but it looks like he has missed out on the job.

According to the report, the reason why Bielsa missed out was because Everton needed a quick fix. Bielsa preferred to take charge of the team in the summer with a revamped squad. The club felt like Sean Dyche would come in and solve issues immediately.

Sky Sports News reporter Vinny O’Connor shed more light on the issues with hiring Bielsa:

“Everton wanted that manager with Premier League experience – Bielsa and Dyche both fit the bill in that respect – but Dyche has had a raft of experience that Everton faces to stay in the Premier League this season.

“The key fact will be the ability to work with this group of players and how he can get his message across. Bielsa has a very unique style of the way he wants to go about things, so he would want pace into the side. But Dyche has been able to turn his hands in a different way at Burnley.”

Everton face Arsenal, Liverpool and Leeds United in their next three fixtures.
