Losing to Bournemouth over the weekend has sounded alarm bells over at Elland Road. Leeds United are now without a win in their last five matches in the Premier League.

And those results included very winnable games, including the ones against Man United and Sunderland.

Fans were unhappy that the team managed to emerge from these two games with just a point, give the poor form of their opponents. Regis Le Bris’ side were bottom of the league and Michael Carrick’s team had not won in the league since August.

What was a promising start to the season has now become a bit concerning following recent results.

But most around the club will be optimistic, with the Whites still sitting in midtable after the first nine games to start the year.

Up next for the Whites is a game against Spurs this weekend.

Roberto De Zerbi’s side seem to have turned a corner and now look like a much better team than the were at the start of the season. Adam Pope thinks that despite not getting favourable results, Leeds are playing well enough to win games.

“I’m not overly concerned in the sense that, I think they’re getting into good positions, but it’s the penultimate ball that has been poor at times, isn’t it?

“I think he used his resources probably as well as he could have at the weekend, to chase a game they should not have been chasing, let’s be honest.

“If anybody should have been ahead, it should have been Leeds. So I’m not overly concerned.

“I actually think we played well, in games that they have drawn and they have looked like winning but it’s not fallen their way, and I feels that fits into the category.”

Whites have to be wary of Spurs resurgence

Roberto De Zerbi’s men are now full of confidence after winning three games on the bounce, including big games against Chelsea and Crystal Palace.

Their start to the season was poor, but it looks like the have managed to turn things around.

The will be more than a handful for Daniel Farke’s side, who are now experiencing a reverse in fortunes in the league. Leeds have not won a game since facing Newcastle United at Elland Road last moth.

What happens on Saturday will have a huge bearing on this Leeds campaign.
