Last season saw Leeds United finish 14th in the Premier League to secure another season in the top flight. Daniel Farke has done an incredible job with this side, given the circumstances.
The club signed 10 new players last summer, and they all had to adapt and gel.
But Farke managed to put things together, and after a formation switch in the middle of the campaign, Leeds were unstoppable. Their run in the early months of 2026 played a big part in their survival.
Most of this was down to the team being very solid and structured defensively.
In attack, the Whites were lacklustre in many aspects of the game. They were not the best in front of goal, but did enough to see them through until the end of the season.
Leeds United target now convinced about summer move
Dominic Calvert-Lewin finished as Leeds United top scorer this past season.
The England striker carried most of the goalscoring burden, as the other attacking options were not convincing. Noah Okafor and Lukas Nmecha also chipped in with some goals.
Harry Wilson joining the club this summer will be a big boost. However, the team still needs help out wide.
Last season, Dan James and Wilfried Gnonto managed to score just one goal between themselves. This lead to the club being linked with a move for Barcelona’s Roony Bardghji in January.
But the winger stayed and finished the campaign in Spain.
The 20-year old could now be open to a move this summer following a major development.
According to Sport, Bardghji has finally been ‘convinced’ that he needs to go out on loan and prove he is good enough to play for the La Liga side. He is now prioritizing a move to a club that will give him playing time.

Leeds need new attacking options
Leeds United definitely need to look in the market after how poor Gnonto and James played last season.
To have just one goal over more than 38 games is not the level Daniel Farke needs in this team. And now that Bardghji could be an option, the 49ers could explore a move.
Farke has not been completely stubborn to change his system – he moved back to the 4-2-3-1 in some games last season.
Bringing in a winger or two could give the team a breath of fresh air in attacking areas out wide. Since last season, the club have lacked a serious threat that can cause problems on the flanks.
