Daniel Farke made some tough decisions concerning the Leeds United first team last year. And eventually, the moves paid off as the Whites survived relegation on their first season back.
Leeds finished in 14th place in the Premier League despite not being given a chance early in the season.
In the training camp in Germany before the campaign, Farke made some big calls on players. Fans were left baffled when Patrick Bamford was snubbed, and the striker left Elland Road after terminating his contract.
Another decision that put everyone off revolved around Jack Harrison.
The winger had spent the last two seasons out on loan, but Leeds thought it would be a good idea to bring him back into the fold.

He was part of Leeds United’ Premier League squad for the campaign.
Unfortunately for him, Daniel Farke never really gave him a run of games in the first team as he preferred other options. Harrison only managed a couple of appearances in the first half of the season.
He then got his agent to find a move, and left in the January window.
Harrison’s loan to Fiorentina was not the best, despite some okay performances. The club decided against using the buy option on his loan deal.
The winger did not report to pre-season training, and was left out of the trip to the US. It was later that news emerged about a deal; MLS side New England Revolution had snapped him up.
Jack Harrison said he was ‘happy’ to return to the Us after playing there early in his career.
“As I considered my options, the decision to return to MLS and join the Revolution was the one that was most aligned with me. It ticked a lot of boxes that I was looking for,” the former Leeds man said.
“I’m absolutely happy to come back to MLS and be back in Massachusetts to a city that is full of champions in all other sports, and I’m hoping we can bring a title here to the city of champions.”

The gamble did not pay off for the Whites
In hindsight, it was a very reasonable decision to count on the winger in the squad last season.
Harrison had loads of Premier League experience, and his last campaign in the top flight was productive. He would have fit well in a Leeds side that lacked players with that level of experience.
But unfortunately, the winger was not willing to bide his time on the bench – he wanted to play.
And now he has found a permanent home in the MLS, with Leeds pocketing some sort of fee. It was a bad gamble from the club, but now everything can be put behind them.
