Bargain £15 million deal on the cards as Leeds pursue Bundesliga star

One of the positions Leeds United are looking to address this summer is the wings. United have plenty of good wingers at their disposal with the likes of Jack Harrison and Raphinha excelling last season. But rumour has it, Marcelo Bielsa and Victor Orta want to add further depth to their options on the flanks.

So, unsurprisingly Leeds are now looking at a number of potential targets. A deal for Liverpool’s Harry Wilson at one stage looked likely but that appears to have gone south. So, Leeds have been forced to look at other options and have turned to VfL Wolfsburg’s Josip Brekalo.

The winger has just two years left on his contract with the Bundesliga club and he appears ready to leave Germany for a new challenge. According to reports, Wolfsburg could let him go for as little as 15 million euros. Considering he’s only 23 years of age, an international and has steadily improved over the last few seasons, this seems like a bargain and according to SportBild it’s one Leeds are certainly interested in.

That said, United will have to fend off other potential suitors if they’re going to secure the services of the Croatian international with Everton and Napoli also interested in the winger.

He’d certainly be a fine addition to Bielsa’s squad ahead of next season and provide important competition on the wings. Right now, he’s ready to continue his journey in the Euros following Croatia’s vital victory over Scotland. However, in the background clubs are set to do battle over his signature.
